Introduction
PlaceWell is a local-first home organization app from BeNiralu LLC. This policy explains what the PlaceWell app and PlaceWell QR service collect, how that information is used, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
Information kept on your device. Your label configurations, including label contents, notes, photos, room assignments, zone assignments, archived labels, and locally generated device and household identifiers are stored on your device using app storage.
Information sent to the PlaceWell QR service. When you scan a PlaceWell QR code, the app may send the label ID and its QR signature to look up that label. For order QR codes, the app may send the order ID to load the kit contents. PlaceWell does not require an account, login, or email address.
How We Use It
- To validate PlaceWell QR codes and return label metadata such as label name, category, SKU, default location, and kit contents.
- To help the app set up labels after a scan or bulk-import labels from an order QR code.
- To maintain QR service reliability and basic scan counts.
- To understand aggregated app usage and improve PlaceWell's features, performance, and reliability.
Data Storage & Retention
Local device storage. The personal organization details you add in the app stay on your device and are not stored on PlaceWell servers. Deleting the app or clearing its app data may remove that local information.
Server storage. The QR service stores QR metadata in Google Firestore, such as label ID, label name, category, SKU, order-related fields, status, scan counts, and scan timestamps. This server metadata is kept as long as needed to operate the QR labels and service.
Permissions
Camera. PlaceWell uses camera access to scan QR codes on labels and to take photos for labels.
Photo library. PlaceWell may request photo library access so you can attach existing images to labels. Label photos are stored locally with the app data.
Third-Party Services
PlaceWell uses Google Firebase/Firestore to host QR label metadata for the QR service. Apple and Google may process information when you download, update, or manage the app through their app stores.
Analytics
PlaceWell uses analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve its features, performance, and reliability. This may include aggregated or de-identified information such as app events, feature and screen interactions, session and crash diagnostics, app version, and general device information. Analytics data does not include the personal contents of your labels, notes, or photos. PlaceWell does not use advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking, and we do not sell your personal information.
Children's Privacy
PlaceWell is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your Choices
- You can choose not to grant camera or photo permissions, though scanning and photo features may not work.
- You can edit or delete labels in the app, and you can remove local app data from your device.
- You can contact us about QR service metadata associated with PlaceWell labels.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as PlaceWell changes. The effective date above will show when the policy was last updated.
